At Aspirations Care, we’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our Complex Care Services and Supported Living teams across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

🔹 Role Title:

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner – Complex Care Services / Supported Living
📍 Birmingham / West Midlands
💰 Salary: £42,000 per annum
🎉 Welcome Bonus of £500!
🕒 Hours: Full Time, Monday - Friday

📌 Ideally Birmingham based
🚗 Full UK Driving License & own vehicle required


🛠️ Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake referral assessments when required to support our operational colleagues.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals (e.g., Psychology, Psychiatry, ICB, IST/ICATT, CPN, OT, RC, Social Worker, CPI Training Team, Mental Health or LD Nurse, Challenging Behaviour Foundation).

  • Complete the full process to develop PBS plans, including direct and indirect assessments.

  • Review the efficacy of PBSPs using positive monitoring.

  • Assist with transition programmes for people moving into their new home.

  • Generate and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans in collaboration with the leadership team and support staff.

  • Promote Restraint Reduction Training Standards and reduce restrictive practices.

  • Cultivate understanding around the function of behaviours and promote alternative communication strategies.

  • Analyse and review outcome data relating to distress communication events.

  • Deliver CPD sessions to staff teams.

  • Support co-production by involving individuals in their own care and support.

  • Practice Leadership and, when necessary, support staff during shifts.

  • Run practice workshops.

  • Be qualified or willing to work toward CPI Safety Intervention Instructor certification.


👤 The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting people using PBS frameworks.

  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.

  • Willing to travel regularly.

  • Person-centred beliefs and values.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Hold a PBS qualification.

  • Confident team leader and influencer.

  • Deep understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and Applied Behaviour Analysis.

  • Experience conducting behavioural assessments and implementing interventions.

  • Direct support experience with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours of concern.

  • Proven track record in reducing restrictive practices.

  • Experience delivering PBS training.

  • Strong documentation and report writing skills.

  • Thorough understanding of Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS, Safeguarding, and risk management.

  • Integrity, resilience, and creative thinking.

  • Holds a formal qualification in one of the following:

    • BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

    • MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis

    • MA or MSc in Autism Studies

    • PBS Graduate Diploma

    • PBS BTEC Level 5 (Advanced Professional Diploma)
